NZFP started over 20 years ago with the goal of helping everyday New Zealanders establish themselves financially and enjoy their retirement. The company now has 35 staff at six locations throughout the country.
Mercury has looked after NZFP’s IT needs for some years. When it came time to replace their in-house server NZFP said they still wanted their staff to be able to work in the office but they wanted more ability to work anywhere. And they didn’t want to spend any more on expensive on-site server hardware.
Craig Dealey, General Manager at NZFP told us: “Our staff are spread over various locations and out and about a lot of the time. We want to maintain the benefits of sharing the same server without the expensive private network set up costs”.
Mercury worked closely with NZFP to identify their key business requirements and implemented a private Cloud solution on Mercury servers in Wellington and Auckland Datacentres, all delivered for a fixed monthly fee.
NZFP is able to add and remove capacity as the business requires enabling a high level of control over their IT costs.
Mercury looks after:
- Help desk for any of issues people have.
- All email and Microsoft Office tools.
- Servers for running accounting and financial planning systems.
- File storage.
- Data backup and recovery
After NZFP had been using their new IT setup for a few months we asked Craig what he thought. “Moving to Mercury’s Cloud services was one of the best decisions we ever made. It has worked reliably and we can access the system from wherever we are. From a disaster recovery point of view, it helps to know that we could get up and running very quickly should we have an issue with one of our office locations.”
